Living in the Moment: Enjoying Every Step of Wedding Planning and Your Big Day

I have to be honest with you… right now, as you read this, I’m planning my own wedding!! November 20th can’t come soon enough!

As excited as I am, I’ve also found myself feeling completely overwhelmed by the weight of everything on my to-do list. Not only am I navigating all the beautiful chaos that comes with planning my own big day, but I also get to walk alongside other couples during this exciting (and sometimes crazy) season of their lives. So when I say I understand where you’re coming from as an overwhelmed bride-to-be, I really do!

Between picking your venue, choosing colors, finalizing your guest list, and managing a million little details, it’s easy to get caught up in the checklist and forget to just… breathe. But here’s the truth: your engagement and wedding day will go by so fast. Taking time to slow down, be present, and soak it all in makes every moment that much more meaningful.

Savor the Planning Season

Wedding planning isn’t just about preparing for one big day, it’s part of your story together. Try to look at it as a season to celebrate, not just a list of tasks to check off. Pour a glass of wine, (or Diet Coke;) put on some music, and make a night out of picking your flowers or choosing your menu. Enjoy the process of creating something beautiful together because honestly, this is where so many memories are made!

Let Go of Perfection

Here’s something I tell my couples all the time: no wedding is 100% perfect, and that’s okay. What makes a wedding amazing isn’t whether every candle is straight or every detail goes exactly as planned, it’s how you feel in the moment! If something small doesn’t go according to plan, laugh it off and move on. Those little imperfections often become your favorite stories later.

Be Present on Your Wedding Day

When the big day finally arrives, try to slow down and take it all in. Take a deep breath before walking down the aisle. Notice how your partner looks at you. Listen to the laughter, the music, and the voices of the people you love most. This day only happens once, so let yourself feel it. At Stone Gate Weddings & Events, we always tell our couples that the best weddings aren’t the ones that run perfectly on schedule, they’re the ones where the couple looks completely in love and totally at ease! Luckily, our team takes care of the details so you can stay in the moment and truly enjoy your day!

Focus on What Really Matters

When you look back on your wedding day, you won’t remember every tiny detail — you’ll remember the emotions, the love, and the joy that filled the room. So give yourself permission to slow down, trust your team, and be fully present. That’s what makes your wedding day unforgettable. If you’re planning a Utah wedding and want a team who will help you stay stress-free and focused on what truly matters, we’d love to be part of your story. Let’s make sure you get to enjoy every beautiful moment, from planning to “I do.”
